Lately, I’ve been really focusing on ways to self-improve, be more effective and live a more purposeful life. I’m sure everyone has heard of the new GirlBoss hashtag going around, although there is real substance in this idea. There are some very practical things we can do to be more effective in our daily routines and to enjoy life more. In effort to do this, I’ve made adjustments to my schedule, my work and way of thinking. I’ve been experiencing a lot of great changes and progress in my life and along with that, I feel that I need to reflect on the things I’ve done and still need to do to remain successful.
Last year, I felt as though my life was moving forward without me in the driver’s seat. I was stuck in the same rhythm of getting up, going to work, coming home, watching tv and then going to bed. I did that over and over again everyday and I felt as though I was not living up to my potential. Even though the job I had was a pretty good one, I did not feel satisfied with it. I did not feel content with what I was putting into the world or into myself. I wasn’t doing anything meaningful in other people’s lives or in my own. While a few things happened that forced me to re-analyze my entire life (for another blog post), I am glad they happened because they made me re-evaluate what I’m doing with my time.
Time is so important and if you don’t reflect on how your spending it, it will pass you by very quickly. I found time disappearing on me and I wasn’t doing anything with it. Therefore after some major changes, I started to re-vamp my routine and my career. First, I started blogging which is something I’ve always wanted to do and it has revitalized my life in so many ways. I also created a new routine for myself which included getting up early, exercising, working on my blog, being organized, and inspiring myself. Therefore if you want to become a girlboss, or just begin to take charge of your life and enjoy it to the fullest, you will need to make some substantive changes to your routine.
